The consortium of Asseco Poland and Ganso won a limited tender for the modernization of the IT system at the Regional Hospital in Bielsko-Biała. The contract worth over PLN 7.4 million is aimed at the implementation of e-Health services and innovation of hospital management processes.

The Regional Hospital in Bielsko-Biała is the largest medical facility in southern Poland. It provides health care in 18 hospital wards and 24 specialist clinics. The facility boasts a modern operating block consisting of 6 operating rooms as well as a dialysis station with 18 dialysis stands.

The key element of this project is to implement Asseco Medical Management System, a comprehensive solution which comprises dozens of modules, providing specialized functionalities to support daily operations such as the admissions office, hospital wards, patient traffic, operating block, pharmacy, workshops, outpatient clinic, and laboratories. The project will enable distribution of medical data in electronic form; whereas, the register of medical services will be a source of data for the Electronic Medical Records.

Another important part of the project is the Business Intelligence analytical module that will enable effective hospital management based on the results of multivariate analyses. Moreover, AMMS system will be integrated with the hospital’s legacy software used in administration and radiology.

The hospital will be also equipped with IT infrastructure necessary to launch the new solution. This is expected to include the purchase of 12 servers and 300 workstations.

The project is co-financed from EU funds under the Regional Operational Programme of Silesia for the years 2007-2013, Priority: Information Society, Operation: Development of Electronic Public Services.
