Asseco with cloud solution for telecommunications

Asseco Poland, with the support of technology partners - IBM, Google Cloud and Red Hat - has created a new model of the Asseco Convergent Services Environment platform (Asseco CSE). For the first time on the Polish market, the BSS-class system (Business Support System) has been launched in the cloud, allowing telecommunications companies to significantly reduce their IT costs.

The Asseco Convergent Services Environment platform is Asseco’s proprietary BSS (Business Support Systems) solution developed to support telecommunications operators as well as Internet and TV providers in sales, service and billing of services. They can use it as a multi-channel package of systems supporting day-to-day processes. It also enables the combination of many different products into one consistent offer, settled under one invoice. It can support the processes of sales, service and settlement of convergent services. Making Asseco CSE available in the cloud, as a service, is an innovation on the Polish market. For customers, it means the optimization of costs related to software implementation, as well as operating and maintenance fees in proportion to the size of their business.

Our solution for telecommunications operators is based on the latest technologies. We have created an innovative tool for the telecommunications sector, and additionally we provide it in a very cost-effective and convenient model. Together with our partners, we have completed the installation of the platform under a project at one of the leading Polish mobile operators, said Radosław Semkło, Director of the Telecommunications and Media Division at Asseco Poland.

The Asseco CSE platform installed in the public clouds of the largest providers on the cloud computing market is an offer addressed to small and mid-sized operators and telecommunications enterprises as well as media companies. Instead of a traditional approach, the new business model assumes the provision of BSS (CRM, Product Catalogue, Billing) as a service in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model directly from the public cloud. From the contracting party's point of view, this is a major change, since it primarily reduces the initial investment costs associated with IT infrastructure and its maintenance. In turn, the model proposed to larger operators is to provide the system Asseco CSE in the private cloud.

The cooperation between IBM and Asseco teams has resulted in the creation of a Asseco CSE hybrid cloud platform based on IBM Cloud Pak for Applications, a solution that enables organizations to modernize existing apps and develop new ones that can run on-premises or on any Red Hat OpenShift-based private or public cloud. Asseco CSE is an example of such a new application. Importantly, the applied solutions ensure system security, which is crucial from the point of view of customers when implementing cloud tools, said Sebastian Pietrzak, Director responsible for IBM & RedHat business development at IBM Poland and Baltics.

Asseco CSE is an extremely important system for many telecommunications operators and electronic service providers. We are very pleased that this solution can now benefit from all the advantages of the Google Cloud Platform, so that companies can build a consistent and flexible offer for their customers much easier and faster. Building its solution based on Google Cloud, Asseco has provided the system with even greater scalability, stability and security, said Bartłomiej Danek, Google Cloud Sales Manager, Google Poland.
