Gate to the Lublin Region has opened

The implementation phase of the “Gate to the Lublin Region – e-Government” project has been completed. Now, the project has entered into a 5-year-long system maintenance stage. The execution of this undertaking, which aims at computerization of the Lublin Province administration, was entrusted to Asseco Poland, acting in a consortium with Otago and local E-Studio firm. This contract is worth PLN 15.2 million (net of VAT).

The “Gate to the Lublin Region – e-Government” provided the Lublin Province administration with an electronic platform for citizen services. In addition, nearly 700 local government bodies, including schools, libraries and Municipal Social Welfare Centres, have been connected into one electronic document circulation system, which enables efficient exchange of information. The solution has also been integrated with e-PUAP, the nationwide Electronic Platform of Public Administration Services. Moreover, the existing IT infrastructure has been modernized and extended.

„Asseco is one of the largest vendors of IT solutions for the public administration sector,” said Piotr Siarkiewicz, Commercial Director at the IT Infrastructure Division of Asseco Poland. “Thanks to our vast experience in the deployment of large IT systems, we were able to complete this e-Government project on a timely and cost efficient basis. The work, which took two years, was performed by 10 highly skilled professionals of Asseco, all with many years of hands-on experience,” he continued.

Informatization has a positive influence on the image of administration offices, which become more citizen friendly. It improves the efficiency of services rendered to the region’s inhabitants, who are given the opportunity to handle official matters and make payments over the Internet. This helps save a lot of time as well. In addition, people are able to check the status of their matters at any place and time.

“Successful implementation of this project would not be possible without the huge commitment of all the involved parties,” said Wojciech Romanek, Project Manager at the Marshal’s Office of Lublin Province. “Today, we can confidently say that the Lublin Region has modern administration offices, which are easily accessible to the public,” he added.

It should be also emphasized that e-Government helps reduce the costs associated with the provision of services by public administration bodies, and increases the attractiveness of the region for investors.
