Asseco strengthens its position in the power industry – Spanish Tecsisa joins the Group

Asseco has acquired a 51% stake in the Spanish company Tecsisa, which provides IT solutions for the power sector. It currently operates in Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Peru and Argentina and has growth prospects in other markets including Portugal, Chile, Panama, Colombia, the US, Australia and South Africa. Owing to this transaction, Asseco will strengthen its international position in the utility sector and expand its product portfolio.

Tecsisa provides native cloud and Big Data applications running on the technologically advanced Kommodo platform. It is the flagship product of the company, which operates, among others, in the Italian energy groupEnel and has been implemented in several countries. The system architecture was designed together with the advisors of the analyst company Gartner. The solution is based on the latest technologies available on the market, which makes it highly scalable and configurable. Thus, it ensures fast and agile implementation regardless of a country, legal and tax environment, language and time zone in which a customer operates. It is available in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model. In addition, its intuitive interface is designed to give customers the best possible user experience.

Asseco has developed a modern billing system for the Asseco Utility Management Solutions family - AUMS, which meets the highest requirements of its clients and is adapted to the current standards of corporate architecture design. With the addition of Tecsisa, the Group will expand its product portfolio with a native cloud solution, which will be developed together with the Spanish team. Ultimately, we want to create a system based on the best functionalities of AUMS and Kommodo. Following the acquisition, together with Tecsisa, we will manage over forty million electricity and gas consumption points worldwide, said Paweł Piwowar, Vice President of the Management Board, Asseco Poland.

Tecsisa has developed Kommodo - a cloud and Big Data platform, designed especially for power and public utility companies. In turn, Asseco offers AUMS and the experience of a leading provider of software for enterprises. It is present in over 50 countries and has a very strong position in the utilities segment. It is an ideal combination, which will result in the creation of an offer of solutions available in the cloud, targeted at power and gas enterprises all over the world. Thanks to the Software as a Service model, they will be able to achieve greater agility and lower operating costs, said Victor Ruiz, CEO of Tecsisa.

I think that together with Asseco we will redefine the future of software for the utilities sector. Kommodo is a cloud platform that embraces microservices, Big Data, reactive architectures and functional programming to create applications that scale and respond elastically to technical requirements. These are some of the major challenges that power companies and utilities face today. Now, we have the opportunity to leverage the experience of Asseco and its AUMS product family. For Tecsisa, joining forces with Asseco is a match made in heaven, said Juan José Vázquez, CTO of Tecsisa.

Asseco International has acquired a 51% stake in Tecsisa for EUR 4.95 million. The value of the transaction may increase up to EUR 7.96 million, depending on the results generated by the Spanish company in the following years.
