On July 1, 2020, SKG, a member of the Asseco Group, was incorporated into the structures of Asseco Poland. The combined experience and potential of both companies will translate into enhanced competence in the area of IT solutions for the public finance sector as well as the handling of customs, transport and forwarding processes.

SKG joined the Asseco Group in 2012. It has over 30 years of experience in the development of dedicated IT systems supporting customs processes, retail trade, transport and forwarding. The company has completed numerous projects for the Polish Customs Service, for which it has developed and implemented systems for declarations handling, export control, intra-EU trade statistics, and customs and tax settlements. SKG has also implemented and is carrying out projects for the customs administration of Slovakia, Bulgaria and Lithuania.

I am convinced that the combined competence of SKG and Asseco Poland will enable even better execution of projects for central offices and business. Joint teams will give more value to our clients. It is also an important step in building Asseco's position as a European IT leader in the area of customs and taxes - said Piotr Sitek, Director of the Government Administration Division at Asseco Poland.

SKG's existing clients include over a dozen Polish central offices, regional government and local government administration bodies, as well as private companies from the pharmaceutical, financial and insurance, energy, fuel, retail, transport and food sectors, among others.

The merger between SKG and Asseco Poland was effected by a take-over pursuant to article 492 § 1 item 1 of the Polish Commercial Companies Code and transfer of all the assets of SKG to Asseco. Following the merger, SKG was dissolved without liquidation.

CUI.Ubezpieczenia is an omni-channel platform for selling and handling insurance. It is both a convenient tool for advisors in bank branches and a solution available through Internet banking. AXA is a partner providing insurance products through the platform.

CUI.Ubezpieczenia, by integrating with the banking system, automates most of the processes, e.g. data exchange or settlement of premiums, thus providing support for an advisor who can focus on other aspects of customer service. Another facilitation for bank employees is one common sales front-end to handle different products offered by different partners - he added.

The aim of the 18th edition of the "Leader" technology contest was to select the most interesting and innovative solutions that were implemented last year.

Computerworld TOP200 is a prestigious report on the ICT industry in Poland. Its aim is to present the overall condition of the ICT sector and the prospects and challenges it faces. For nearly 30 years it has been the main source of information on market leaders in particular segments. The report has been under the patronage of the Ministry of Digitization, the National Centre for Research and Development and the Ministry of Development.

Asseco conducts numerous R&D activities. One of the company's key projects is the construction of a modern center that will house teams conducting research and development works in such areas as artificial intelligence or telemedicine.

Since April, Asseco Poland has been enabling medical institutions to implement free of charge IT tools that improve communication with patients. Due to the great interest in the package "#stayhome, Patient", further tools have been developed to support hospitals in fighting the coronavirus.

"During the pandemic, it is crucial for medical facilities to maintain continuity of medical care on the one hand, and on the other hand, to implement and apply appropriate safety procedures in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. IT solutions come in handy" - said Jan Butkiewicz, Deputy Director of the Sales Department at the Healthcare Division of Asseco Poland.

With a view to the actions to be taken by a medical facility in the event of a patient with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 virus, Asseco has prepared two unique services that have been added to the ICT services package.
A special BioHazard module will allow a hospital to properly mark and search for patients with suspected COVID-19 or other serious viral or bacterial disease in its database.
The second tool is the COVID Patient Register, which will enable integration with the COVID National Patient Register. This will eliminate possible duplication of information entered and immediately confirm the case of previous coronavirus diagnosis. Hospitals will also have access to the 'PreTRIAGE' records form, which includes medical history information.
Other solutions made available under the "Together against COVID" package support remote communication with a patient. Tele-advice, using audiovisual communication technology, allows doctors to give advice remotely, providing access to a patient's digital medical records. E-Notifications improve communication with a patient via automatic SMS or e-mail messages. Their important functionality is also the possibility to send a PIN code for e-Prescription. In turn, E-Confirmations enable a patient to easily confirm or cancel a visit by e-mail or text message, thus freeing overloaded telephone lines of medical facilities and reducing the number of uncancelled visits.
